Laura began exploring the world of yoga over 20 years ago, practicing Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga in Boulder, CO. From the beginning of her journey, becoming a teacher and sharing the practice with others was a goal. For several years during that time starting a family was her main focus, yet the dream of teaching remained, simmering in the back of her mind. A friend suggested Kaiut yoga to her one day and was so enthusiastic about it she decided to try it for herself. The deep healing and sense of calm she experienced from the practice was all the motivation she needed to bring that dream of teaching into focus again. Laura earned her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate in November 2016. She began studying directly with Francisco Kaiut in February 2017. When not spending time with family and friends or teaching yoga, Laura can often be found at home, in her pajamas, reading non-fiction.
Megan is devoted to offering a space of love and acceptance where healing and growth naturally occur. As a child Megan had multiple surgeries and full body casts to correct bilateral congenital hip dislocation (born with no hip sockets). In response to these early life shaping experiences, she became a bodyworker, cranial sacral practitioner and somatic psychotherapist. Many of these and other modalities were essential to Megan’s healing and recovery. Even so, when Megan came to Kaiut Yoga in 2015, patterns of chronic pain and lack of mobility were manifesting that would inevitably lead to joint replacements and long term pain. Megan is amazed, both as a student and as a healing arts practitioner of over 20 years, to see how a regular Kaiut Yoga practice has the ability to heal the body-mind in a gentle and significant way, even in the most deeply held injuries. Today, Megan has less pain, more mobility, and more freedom than ever in her life. She is honored to bring this practice to you.
Aprille began practicing yoga in 1993, first studying on her own with books, then later seeking out a teacher. She dreamed back then of becoming a yoga teacher, but it would be years before that became a reality. Over the years Aprille tried and studied a variety of styles of yoga. After years of sitting stationary in the technology field and dynamically moving while rock climbing, Aprille came to Kaiut Yoga with a variety of injuries. Somewhere during that time Aprille had children, which had also altered her body in ways that required healing. After stepping into her first Kaiut Yoga class, Aprille immediately recognized the benefits of Kaiut, experiencing sensations she hadn’t felt in all her years of other yoga practice. Aprille has spent the last year studying with Francisco Kaiut in Boulder and in Brazil and is excited to focus on helping others experience greater freedom of movement and enjoyment of their bodies.
Laura T. started practicing Kaiut Yoga in 2015 after a series of traumatic hip and leg injuries resulted in unwanted limitations. She remembers feeling stiff and stuck, frustrated and trapped by pain. "The relief I felt in my hips after Francisco Kaiut introduced me to my first Kaiut sequence of foot and shoulder poses felt like . . . eureka! I knew I’d found something special.”
Laura loves teaching Kaiut Yoga to people who want more freedom in their bodies, or who just need a break from feeling busy. "If you have experienced pain, trauma, or have felt depleted and would like to feel better, join me! I’d love to lead you in a yoga practice that’s improved my life by helping me feel stronger, more at ease, and more whole."
Laura also works as a visual artist in Boulder, Colorado. In her time off she enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, spending time in nature, and hanging out with friends.
